Today’s Reading:
Romans 12
1 Peter 5
Beloved friends, what should be our proper response to God’s marvelous mercies? To surrender yourselves to God to be his sacred, living sacrifices. And live in holiness, experiencing all that delights his heart. For this becomes your genuine expression of worship.
Romans 12:1 TPT
I heard the Spirit of the Living God say,
I’m a good, good Father, and I Am drawing out of you hidden things and ideas and ways you didn’t know were there. The old you has died. The old identity has died, and you are raised to life in Christ. You are already basking in the light of the Son. Where do you go from here? I have placed the propserity of Heaven inside of you. This new life came when the old man died. To others you may look rebellious and wildly independent, but you are beloved and bearing My Name. You are reborn in Me, and I Am moving you by the impulses of My Spirit.
So be content with who you are, and don’t put on airs. God’s strong hand is on you; he’ll promote you at the right time. Live carefree before God; he is most careful with you.
1 Peter 5:6-7 MSG
What other see and perceive as the strangeness of your life and choices and even words is of little value and consequence — so long as the outward expression of you speaks loudly and boldly as well as softly and sweetly of Me. I Am calling you out and have done so from birth — to be a John the Baptist type. People didn’t understand him. But he spoke the truth. He didn’t apologize for being My messenger of truth. And you are not the only one. This is a time when I have commissioned and sent into action many John the Baptists who are out there in the wilderness reaching the lost, the broken, the contrite, the ones who are seeking Me.
What the world thinks is of no value and little consequence. What matters is that you follow My heart, you lean on My shoulder, you look to My face. Everything else is inconsequential.
Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes.
Romans 12:2 TPT
I Am making this into a beautiful song, a melody too glorious for words. I’m making your life into a beautiful work of art, a tapestry woven together of many threads — each with a role to play in the work that I Am calling you to do. For a long time it made no sense. It felt disjointed, separate and as if your life was one of many scattered dots. This is the time where I Am weaving the pieces together for cohesion. I Am connecting the dots, and it will bring clarity, strength and power. It will bring astounding beauty to your story, your voice, your perspective. And it will cause you to soar like an eagle to heights never before imaginable. I Am raising you up on eagles’ wings. This is your time to soar at the highest heights in Me, through Me and for Me. Bless the Lord.
How to Respond
- Shun the opinions of the world about you, and bask in the light of the Lord Jesus.
- Pray, Lord, thank You that You are making something beautiful and cohesive out of my life. Thank You that the disparate pieces and parts that have not seemed to make sense, You are taking and bringing into unity to weave a beautiful story and picture. Help me to live my life in a way that is honoring to You first. Help me to be moved by the impulses of Your Spirit — even if I am criticized and called names for it. I want to live freely in You and soar to great, never before imagined heights in You, through You and for You.
- Declare, Be enthusiastic to serve the Lord, keeping your passion toward him boiling hot! Radiate with the glow of the Holy Spirit and let him fill you with excitement as you serve him. Let this hope burst forth within you, releasing a continual joy. Don’t give up in a time of trouble, but commune with God at all times. Take a constant interest in the needs of God’s beloved people and respond by helping them. And eagerly welcome people as guests into your home. Speak blessing, not cursing, over those who reject and persecute you.
—Romans 12:11-14 TPT - Decree, The Lord is weaving the pieces of my life together, and He is causing them to come into cohesion and make sense. He has made me to be different, and I will not try to conform to the ideals or opinions of the world. I will live my life freely and expansively in Him, moved by the impulses of His Spirit and ministering to those He brings my way. He is bringing clarity, understanding, fresh purpose and fresh perspective that brings a new sound to my voice. His is causing me to soar, and I will not be held back any longer.
