Psalm 91
Overcome every form of evil as a victorious soldier of Jesus the Anointed One. For every soldier called to active duty must divorce himself from the distractions of this world so that he may fully satisfy the one who chose him.
2 Timothy 2:3-4 TPT
I heard the Spirit of the Living God say,
All battles are Mine, but not all of them are yours. I’m not calling you to wade into every one. I have discreet battles appointed for particular warriors. You can only be one place on the battlefield at a time Even if you are fighting in the natural and in the spirit, even if your spirit is fighting in Heavenly places and your body is on the ground in combat, your efforts can still only be dedicated to one battle at a time. That is My design. So don’t spread yourself so thin, that you cannot attend to the battle to which you are assigned. Don’t wade into skirmishes that do not involve you — skirmishes to which you have not been assigned.
The confidence of my calling enables me to overcome every difficulty without shame, for I have an intimate revelation of this God. And my faith in him convinces me that he is more than able to keep all that I’ve placed in his hands safe and secure until the fullness of his appearing.
2 Timothy 1:12 TPT
Keep your hand on the wheel of the mission that I have given you. Pray, and I will raise up warriors to fight those other battles. Many have already been appointed and called into service. Many are already on the battlefield. You are not alone. You are one, but My forces with you are many. I Am providing great air cover and ground backup for the battle I have called you to be in. So be in that one, and you will have every victory. Defeat comes when you go into skirmishes and battles to which I have not appointed you.
You expose yourself to open fire when you step out of the protected place where My angelic air cover and infantry surround you on all sides. This is a war for the faithful, for the diligent and for those disciplined to remain in the fight to which I’ve called them, and only that fight. You will see other battles, and you will be tempted to join ranks. But don’t abandon your place on the battlefield. That’s where devastating mistakes happen.
When we live our lives within the shadow of God Most High, our secret hiding place, we will always be shielded from harm. How then could evil prevail against us or disease infect us? God sends angels with special orders to protect you wherever you go, defending you from all harm. If you walk into a trap, they’ll be there for you and keep you from stumbling. You’ll even walk unharmed among the fiercest powers of darkness, trampling every one of them beneath your feet!
Psalms 91:9-13 TPT
Stay in My protected place in the battle to which I’ve called you. Be a happy and joy-filled warrior there. Be a diligent and power wielding warrior there, and you will relish in every victory. You will enjoy so much victory. Stay in your fight. I will appoint others to man those other battles that you see. Don’t get drawn out of your place. I need you right where I’ve got you. Stay there until the assignment changes.
How to Respond
- Ensure you are in proper positioning, and you are only in the battle the Lord called you to fight.
- Pray, Holy Spirit help me to clearly see where You have assigned me. Help me to clearly see what fights I need to drop and leave to others. Give me eyes to see Your angelic warriors that cover and surround me. Thank You for them. Help me to worship and be joy-filled. Help me to gain Your strategies and insights from Heaven, so I can powerfully and effectively do what You’ve called me to do. I don’t want to be prone to distraction, and I don’t want to wander out or run out from Your protection.
- Declare, For here is what the Lord has spoken to me: “Because you loved me, delighted in me, and have been loyal to my name, I will greatly protect you. I will answer your cry for help every time you pray, and you will feel my presence in your time of trouble. I will deliver you and bring you honor. I will satisfy you with a full life and with all that I do for you. For you will enjoy the fullness of my salvation!”
— Psalms 91:14-16 TPT - Decree, I will be a disciplined warrior who is committed to the battle to which the Lord has assigned me. I will be protected and victorious here. I will get strategy and insight here that is not available to the enemy. I will not be drawn into other skirmishes and battles that seem urgent or appealing. I will stick with my assignment until the Lord calls for me to make a change.
