Today’s Reading:
Psalm 103
“With my whole heart, with my whole life, and with my innermost being, I bow in wonder and love before you, the holy God! Yahweh, you are my soul’s celebration. How could I ever forget the miracles of kindness you’ve done for me? You kissed my heart with forgiveness, in spite of all I’ve done. You’ve healed me inside and out from every disease.”
Psalms 103:1-3 TPT
I heard the Spirit of the Living God say,
Look at what you’ve become. You’re different than when we started down this road 7 years ago. You’ve changed. You’ve allowed me to mold you and shape you. You’ve made tough but needed decisions, and you’ve rolled with the punches and rode the waves of circumstances beyond your control. You can see now that life in the Spirit can be borne with ease. It’s your grip of control that causes you to experience unneeded suffering and pain. As you have released that, it has been easy to flow with Me like a boat on the water — sometimes stormy, sometimes wild, sometimes placid and at total peace. The difference now is that you are no longer constantly trying to take the wheel. You are not continually trying to wrestle for control. This is something I can work with.
“Lord, you’re so kind and tenderhearted and so patient with people who fail you! Your love is like a flooding river overflowing its banks with kindness. You don’t look at us only to find our faults, just so that you can hold a grudge against us. You may discipline us for our many sins, but never as much as we really deserve. Nor do you get even with us for what we’ve done. Higher than the highest heavens— that’s how high your tender mercy extends! Greater than the grandeur of heaven above is the greatness of your loyal love, towering over all who fear you and bow down before you!”
Psalms 103:8-11 TPT
In the days ahead I need you to go with My flow. It doesn’t mean discipline and planning is not needed. It simply means that I set the terms of engagement, the pace, direction and timing. You obey. You simply trust and obey. It has taken many years of testing to work you into this level of flexibility that I have been seeking. You started out as a brittle steel bar. And look at you now. You have learned to flex and roll at My command and as circumstances require. Do you miss that old religious spirit? It was a torment to you and a source of constant pain.
“You’ve rescued me from hell and saved my life. You’ve crowned me with love and mercy. You satisfy my every desire with good things. You’ve supercharged my life so that I soar again like a flying eagle in the sky!”
Psalms 103:4-5 TPT
The days ahead will be different than the days you have known. You’ll march to the beat of a different drum, and you’ll do it gladly. The shackles and weights of that former religious system and spirit enslaved you. But now you are finally free to dance, free to run, free to laugh, to worship and to party all night long in My Presence without a care or a thought toward what the world thinks, toward what looks right and proper in the world’s eyes. You’re becoming the rugged, yet child-like, delighted, sovereign individual I made you to be. Welcome to a deeper dimension of yourself than you have ever allowed yourself to know. You’re really gonna like it here.
How to Respond
- Pray, Lord thank You for not leaving me where You found me. Thank You for sticking with me all these years — for being so patient, so kind and so determined to mold me back into Your original design and Your original intent for me. Thank You for helping me to throw off the need for control, the need for perfection, the need for certainty and the religious spirit that was behind it all. Help me to learn to walk in freedom as the sovereign unique person You made me to be. I don’t want to be anyone else. But I do want to be more like You.
- Declare, “So bless the Lord, all his messengers of power, for you are his mighty heroes who listen intently to the voice of his word to do it. Bless and praise the Lord, you mighty warriors, ministers who serve him well and fulfill his desires. I will bless and praise the Lord with my whole heart! Let all his works throughout the earth, wherever his dominion stretches— let everything bless the Lord!”
Psalms 103:20-22 TPT - Decree, I have left the old, rigid, control-freak version of me behind. I have cast off the religious spirit that was strangling my destiny and my personality. I am walking forward with my Savior, King Jesus, in freedom, in delight and in lightness of spirit — because He is the Captain of my ship, no matter how stormy the seas.
