Today’s Reading:
Isaiah 35
Isaiah 61
John 16
Psalm 63
The wilderness and dry land will be joyously glad! The desert will blossom like a rose and rejoice! Every dry and barren place will burst forth with abundant blossoms, dancing and spinning with delight! Lebanon’s lush splendor covers it, the magnificent beauty of Carmel and Sharon. My people will see the awesome glory of Yahweh, the beautiful grandeur of our God. Strengthen those who are discouraged. Energize those who feel defeated. Say to the anxious and fearful, “Be strong and never afraid. Look, here comes your God! He is breaking through to give you victory! He comes to avenge your enemies. With divine retribution he comes to save you!”
Isaiah 35:1-4 TPT
I heard the Spirit of the Living God say,
Divine truth is your birthright. Divine truth is sprouting up from the ground like a rose. Cling to truth in chaos. Look to the Rose of Sharon, the essential, only Divine Truth — the One who is truth, who reveals truth, releases truth and leads you into all truth. His Name is Jesus. He is the Rose of Sharon. His fragrance is rich and heavy, and His heart is for you. The scent of His fragrance has been pressed out through suffering and has been made into oil. And through His suffering, through the pressing that He endured, you can share in His fragrance by His anointing.
“The mighty Spirit of Lord Yahweh is wrapped around me because Yahweh has anointed me, as a messenger to preach good news to the poor. He sent me to heal the wounds of the brokenhearted, to tell captives, “You are free,” and to tell prisoners, “Be free from your darkness.” I am sent to announce a new season of Yahweh’s grace and a time of God’s recompense on his enemies, to comfort all who are in sorrow, to strengthen those crushed by despair who mourn in Zion— to give them a beautiful bouquet in the place of ashes, the oil of bliss instead of tears, and the mantle of joyous praise instead of the spirit of heaviness. Because of this, they will be known as Mighty Oaks of Righteousness, planted by Yahweh as a living display of his glory.“
Isaiah 61:1-3 TPT
He is anointing you with the oil of His suffering, but not for suffering — for gladness. He took on our suffering, and His anointing is to make you glad. His anointing is to bring healing, fullness and restoration like a flood into your life. Receive it. Receive this heavy anointing. Carry the recognition of His suffering. It is for your joy. It is for your turnaround. It is for your victory.
“And everything I’ve taught you is so that the peace which is in me will be in you and will give you great confidence as you rest in me. For in this unbelieving world you will experience trouble and sorrows, but you must be courageous, for I have conquered the world!”
John 16:33 TPT
The pleasure of His presence, the sweetness and richness of the anointing of His suffering on your life that births gladness in your heart — it is what enables you to bear up under the threat and weight of persecution. He has set you free, so be free indeed. Live with no attachment to fear, shame, doubt or guilt. Live with the eyes of an awestruck lover who is following after their richly anointed King, the Ruler of the Universe, the Creator of Heaven and Earth. And watch as Heaven bows down to intervene, to help, to supply, to strengthen, to refresh.
Take on and receive the full anointing, the whole person, the whole body anointing of the blood of Jesus, which is the oil that was pressed from the Rose of Sharon. And carry that fragrance with gladness, with great joy and with life. Because His suffering has set you free. His suffering has set you free indeed.
How to Respond
- Worship the Lord in reverence and in awe.
- Pray, Jesus, thanking You is not sufficient for the monumental sacrifice You made to set me free. You set me free for joy, for life, for abundance, for health and gladness. Help me to live in the fullness of life that reflects the very high price You paid. I want to be one who carries the fragrance of the anointing of Your suffering in full recognition that it is what brought me back to life. You did not do it so I would live in heaviness or sorrow, but so I would live in gratitude and abounding gladness. I don’t want to hold back any expression of gratitude and love. I want to live in the full joy of one who has been set free, of one whose ashes have been traded for victory, whose mourning has been traded for joy, whose weariness has been traded for praise. No amount of thanking You is sufficient for what You suffered, but still I thank You King Jesus.
- Declare, I overflow with praise when I come before you, for the anointing of your presence satisfies me like nothing else. You are such a rich banquet of pleasure to my soul.
— Psalms 63:5 TPT - Decree, My King has set me free. He is the Rose of Sharon, and the oil of His suffering, His precious blood covers me. I am anointed and fully covered with the oil of His suffering, so I can live in gladness, in wholeness, in full restoration and in full joy, victory and health. I will not withhold gratitude, love and praise. I will bubble over with joy and spread the fragrance of His anointing everywhere I go. I am set free.
