Today’s Reading:
Psalm 18
Psalm 62

I am standing in absolute stillness, silent before the one I love, waiting as long as it takes for him to rescue me. Only God is my Savior, and he will not fail me. For he alone is my safe place. His wraparound presence always protects me as my champion defender. There’s no risk of failure with God! So why would I let worry paralyze me, even when troubles multiply around me?
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭62‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭TPT‬‬

I heard the Spirit of the Living God say,
Accept My embrace. Allow Me to hold you, to comfort you, to set your heart and mind and body at ease just as a mother or father would do for a dearly loved child. This is a time where I long to sweep you up in my arms. The road has been hard. The battles have been long, messy and difficult, and now it’s time to regroup. It’s time to rest in My arms, and receive the strength, encouragement, refreshing and comfort required for the days ahead. The battles are not over. The war you are in is not yet won. Of course every victory, every battle and every war is already won in Me. But the battle as you see it, the war as it stretches out in front of you still requires your obedience, your connection to Me and your fight.

God’s glory is all around me! His wraparound presence is all I need, for the Lord is my Savior, my hero, and my life-giving strength. Trust only in God every moment! Tell him all your troubles and pour out your heart-longings to him. Believe me when I tell you—he will help you!
Pause in his presence
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭62‬:‭7‬-‭8‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Allow Me to refresh you, to clean the grime and the filth off of you and to bind up your wounds. I will refresh you and revive you to such a level that you will be excited and more than ready to get into that next fight, to take on that next battle. You feel war-torn and battle weary now. So pull aside. Let me restore you. Let me revive you. Let Me speak encouragement, life and refreshing into your soul, spirit and mind. And then you will find yourself with restored vitality. You will be so encouraged, so clear, so energetic that you will be bursting at the seams to get back into the fight. Don’t rush the restoration process. Don’t fight My cleansing, My comfort and My renewal. This is just a short pull-aside to get you ready for the next battle, to heal you, cleanse you and bring refreshing.

He alone is my safe place; his wraparound presence always protects me. For he is my champion defender; there’s no risk of failure with God. So why would I let worry paralyze me, even when troubles multiply around me?
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭62‬:‭2‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Every day does not need to be at battle. Every day cannot be at war. Take these pull-aside days and moments and even weeks as I draw you, so you can be effective when you have no choice but to be in the fight. Rest and refreshing is imperative for victory. Heed my call to pull aside from time to time. If you do, you will be so much more effective when you reenter the fight. It’s Me who empowers you for victory. Obey Me as I set the terms.

How to Respond

  • Heed the call of the Lord when He beckons you to pull aside from the battle for refreshing.
  • Pray, Lord thank You for providing times of refreshing, restoration, cleansing, healing and comforting from the battle. Help me to recognize these moments for what they are, so I don’t miss them, fight them, ignore them or despise them. Help me to trust You to pull me out when I need a break and to restore, refresh and revive me, to bring healing and new life to me, so I can fight some more. I want to be where You want me to be, doing what You want me to do.
  • Declare, God said to me once and for all, “All the strength and power you need flows from me!” And again I heard it clearly said, “All the love you need is found in me!”
And it’s true that you repay people for what they do.
    ‭‭— Psalms‬ ‭62‬:‭11‬-‭12‬ ‭TPT‬‬
  • Decree, The Lord has appointed times to bring me refreshing, restoration, healing, cleansing and revival. I will not fight or ignore these. I will embrace them, and I will accept the comfort, calming and restoration of the Lord. I will rest when He says rest, and I will fight when and where He says fight. I will win every victory as I obey the voice of my Great Commander in Chief, the Lord of All.
