Today’s Reading:
Psalm 22
Psalm 23
2 Samuel 6
I will declare your name before all my brothers and praise you in the midst of the congregation. Those who fear Yahweh, praise him! Let all the seed of Jacob glorify him with your praises. Stand in awe of him, all you offspring of Israel!
Psalms 22:22-23 TPT
I heard the Spirit of the Living God say,
The tracks leading to an oasis of bliss begin in getting undignified. They begin in unrestrained joy, laughter, testimony, worship and praise. They begin in raucous inappropriate-for-church rejoicing. It’s time to get undignified. The path to the oasis of My bliss begins in getting undignified in the worship, love, adoration and praise of Me. It continues in childlike faith that is possible from that attitude of undignified praise. Celebration, faith, wonder and joy will lead you to My oasis of bliss.
He offers a resting place for me in his luxurious love. His tracks take me to an oasis of peace near the quiet brook of bliss. That’s where he restores and revives my life. He opens before me the right path and leads me along in his footsteps of righteousness so that I can bring honor to his name.
Psalms 23:2-3 TPT
Pure joy, pure peace, pure love, pure hope, pure truth can only be found in Me. They are the bricks in this path. They are the elements to cultivate in your heart. The fertile soil of your heart for this is the undignified love and worship of Me. And it’s a desire to build and grow and stay connected with and run with people who do the same. I Am building a network of undignified worshipper-lovers who will run this faith race together. It’s time for those who are called by My Name to look different than they have in the past, to look different than what you have known. In some ways, I Am even stripping away some of what you have become, so you can humble yourself to a place of great undignified worship, celebration, dance and adoration of Me.
You become my delicious feast even when my enemies dare to fight. You anoint me with the fragrance of your Holy Spirit; you give me all I can drink of you until my cup overflows. So why would I fear the future? Only goodness and tender love pursue me all the days of my life. Then afterward, when my life is through, I’ll return to your glorious presence to be forever with you!
Psalms 23:5-6 TPT
The places this heart attitude will take you are endless, are vast and unthinkable. You have no grid for them, but My Spirit does. And I will lead you there through the dance, the laughter, the joy, worship and unrestrained celebration of one who is undignified. Honor doesn’t come from stoicism and well-pressed clothing. It comes from being one who honors Me well. It comes from being one who honors Me with unrestrained passion and love, and one who honors the spark of the divine in My people. It’s not about outward behavior. It’s about the heart.
How to Respond
- Let go of what is holding you back from worshipping the Lord from the overflow of loving Him with all your heart, mind, soul and strength.
- Pray, Lord, I want to let go. I want to get undignified. Help me break free from the fear of man, so I can worship, praise and celebrate You in the way You deserve. Lord, I want to leave my pride behind and sing, dance, shout and praise in a way that delights You — in a way that leads to childlike faith and puts me on the path to Your oasis of bliss.
- Declare, I will celebrate before the Lord. I will become even more undignified than this. I will be humble in my own eyes, and because of my unrestrained love of the Lord, He will cause me to be honored in the eyes of the people.
— adapted from 2 Samuel 6:21-22 - Decree, I will get undignified in my worship of the Lord. I will not be held back by religious rules, observances or decorum. I will give my King the praise and worship He so rightly deserves. I will experience the fullness of what He has for me as I step out of my restraint and worship Him freely.
