Today’s Reading:
Joshua 3
Isaiah 43
Psalm 18
Psalm 37
Joshua instructed the people, “Get yourselves ready! Set yourselves apart for Yahweh! Tomorrow, Yahweh will perform for us great miracles!”
Joshua 3:5 TPT
I heard the Spirit of the Living God say,
Gifts are coming. Light is coming. Life more abundantly is here and is coming in greater measure, in greater fullness. What you have seen and where you have been is no metric, guidepost or indication of what will happen next. We are going into uncharted territory. As you walk, mark out this territory with a song of thanks. Sing praises as your feet first touch the ground of this uncharted, unfamiliar place. Let the first sounds heard and first things done in this new unfamiliar place be songs of thanksgiving and words of lifted praise. This is the proper response to My goodness and the appropriate dedication of the new territory I Am walking you into.
“Stop dwelling on the past. Don’t even remember these former things. I am doing something brand new, something unheard of. Even now it sprouts and grows and matures. Don’t you perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and open up flowing streams in the desert.”
Isaiah 43:18-19 TPT
This is not a place to be led by what worked before. What worked in the last place and the former place is not suited for here. You can try to retrofit it, but you may want to step back, gain a new perspective, and use a totally new approach. A new approach may mean fewer difficulties and snags. Seek Me first in all these things, so you don’t waste time, money or precious resources trying to jam the old way into a totally different place and situation. This is a time to be open to change. The entire environment around you will be new, so new mindsets, approaches and systems are required. The old has served a good purpose, but in this new place, it’s time to move on to new ways that better serve and better operate in the environment and the purposes of this new setting.
His love broke open the way, and he brought me into a beautiful, broad place. He rescued me—because his delight is in me! He rewarded me for doing what’s right and staying pure. I will follow his commands and I’ll not sin by ceasing to follow him, no matter what.
Psalms 18:19-21 TPT
I will be faithful there, just as I have been faithful here. I will walk with you there, just as I have walked with you here. But we are moving from the dry place, the desert really, to richer soils, fertile pastures and good ground to cultivate. Be open to the change. Be open to every kind of change. I Am with you.
How to Respond
- Be open to change, and anticipate change.
- Pray, Holy Spirit help me. Thank You that You are walking with me, leading me, guiding me and instructing me. Thank You that we are leaving the dry desert place and walking into a place of richer soils and fertile ground. Help me to adapt well and not cling to the systems, processes, mindsets and habits of the former place. Show me what systems and changes to adopt here.
- Declare, So don’t be impatient for Yahweh to act; keep moving forward steadily in his ways, and he will exalt you to possess the land. You’ll watch with your own eyes and see the wicked lose everything.
— Psalms 37:34 TPT - Decree, I will enter this new territory with a song of thanksgiving, and I will mark it out with words of praise to the God who has brought me out of the dry desert place into richer grounds, fertile soil and a land that is ready to be cultivated. I will be open to change. I will not cling to the way I have done things in the past. I will not hang on to old mindsets and approaches. I will allow the Lord to lead me to a new perspective — one that allows me to adapt well and to readily accept and choose and even delight in change.
