Today’s Reading:
Luke 1
One day, Zechariah’s priestly order was on duty and he was serving as priest. He was chosen by the casting of lots (according to the custom of the priesthood) so the honor fell upon Zechariah to enter the Holy Place and burn incense before the Lord. A large crowd of worshipers had gathered to pray outside the temple at the hour when incense was being offered. All at once an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing just to the right of the altar of incense. Zechariah was startled and overwhelmed with fear.
Luke 1:8-12 TPT
I heard the Spirit of the Living God say,
Choose well. Change is at your door. Answer it. Grace for change is here, and grace for choosing well is here. Grace for choosing correctly is here. The winds of change will blow in regardless of whether you choose this opportunity or not. When you open the door, winds of change will come in.
But the angel reassured him, saying, “Don’t be afraid, Zechariah! God is showing grace to you. For I have come to tell you that your prayer for a child has been answered. Your wife, Elizabeth, will bear you a son and you are to name him John.
Luke 1:13 TPT
New mantles are settling on shoulders. It is your recognition of your position as royalty. It is a recognition of the authority and power you carry. It is a recognition of your governmental charge. It’s a weighty mantle, but it fits you perfectly.
Zechariah asked the angel, “How do you expect me to believe this? I’m an old man and my wife is too old to give me a child. What sign can you give me to prove this will happen?” Then the angel said, “I am Gabriel. I stand beside God himself. He has sent me to announce to you this good news. But now, since you did not believe my words, you will be stricken silent and unable to speak until the day my words have been fulfilled at their appointed time and a child is born to you. That will be your sign!”
Luke 1:18-20 TPT
Don’t deny the desires and even ambitions I have put in your heart. Ignoring them does not make them go away. This is a time where I am drawing them out, and you will see as what seemed like pinhole-sized possibilities shift and become the very reality in which you live and breathe and in which you call your domain. Something so remote that in your mind the possibility of this was sized as that of a tiny pinhole will suddenly expand, flood out and surround you in what seems like an instant. Your whole surrounds will change. Your whole reality will change. Your whole perspective will shift, because the world around you has become brand new. And this mantle I have placed on your shoulders is precisely what you need to operate instinctively in this new reality. They will say that you took to this new thing like a fish takes to water. They will say it, and you will agree. You will know very early on in this new change, this vast new reality that you were made for this.
Soon afterward his wife, Elizabeth, became pregnant and went into seclusion for the next five months. With joy she exclaimed, “See how kind it is of God to gaze upon me and take away the disgrace of my barrenness!”
Luke 1:24-25 TPT
Changes are coming. Change will appear at your door. Opportunity will knock. As long as you open the door, regardless of your choice, the winds of change will blow in. Change is inevitable. But open the door, and let it in. Bring the opportunity before Me. Test whether My pleasure rests on it. But let the winds of change flow. It’s time. It’s that time.
How to Respond
- Sing songs of thanksgiving.
- Put your trust in the Lord fully, and stir up the expectation of change.
- Pray, Holy Spirit guide me. Lead me. Help me to discern the choices, changes and opportunities that are coming. I want to make the right choices. I don’t want to be paralyzed by fear of making the wrong choices, and I don’t want to make changes for the sake of change. I want to be in lockstep with You, moving forward in receiving all that You have for me. Cause my pursuit of You and my communion with You to lead me directly and unerringly into my destiny.
- Declare, Not one promise from God is empty of power. Nothing is impossible with God!
— Luke 1:37 TPT - Decree, This is a time of great change. I will open the door to opportunity. I will test the opportunities by the Spirit of the Lord. I will allow the winds of change to flow in my life, and I will receive the new weighty mantle and assignment the Lord has for me. I will not give in to fear, doubt or the lies that my experience, education, background, past or anything else about me is insufficient for taking on the opportunities the Lord brings.
