Today’s Reading:
Matthew 7
Mark 1
Psalm 63
Psalm 72
“Ask, and the gift is yours. Seek, and you’ll discover. Knock, and the door will be opened for you. For every persistent one will get what he asks for. Every persistent seeker will discover what he longs for. And everyone who knocks persistently will one day find an open door.”
Matthew 7:7-8 TPT
I heard the Spirit of the Living God say,
There is a special blessing in My morning glory. There’s a special gift to be found in My Presence before the light of day. My heart is easier to reach out and touch before the motions, movements, activities and sounds of the day begin. Seek Me in the dark. Come draw close to Me before night turns to day, and you will find a treasure that is open and available when you arrive. You know that I’m already there waiting for you, available for you, eager and excited to hear from and talk to you.
The next morning, Jesus got up long before daylight, left the house while it was dark, and made his way to a secluded place to give himself to prayer.
Mark 1:35 TPT
There’s a special blessing in My morning glory, in My pre-dawn light. You will be amazed at how I light your path when you wake up to seek Me in the hours when it is still dark — before the distractions and before people and tasks begin to pull on your sleeve. Treasure Me. Prioritize me. Even seek Me when it’s still dark, and I will light your path. I will clear the way. Grace is here for the seekers, for the lovers, for those in determined and steady pursuit, for the imperfect and the broken. Strategy comes before sunlight. My clearest impartation to you, instruction to you, direction and guiding to you comes before the sunlight.
I overflow with praise when I come before you, for the anointing of your presence satisfies me like nothing else. You are such a rich banquet of pleasure to my soul. I lie awake each night thinking of you and reflecting on how you help me like a father. I sing through the night under your splendor-shadow, offering up to you my songs of delight and joy! With passion I pursue and cling to you. Because I feel your grip on my life, I keep my soul close to your heart.
Psalms 63:5-8 TPT
Seek Me for wisdom, and you will find me. Pursue Me in the night and pre-dawn hours, and I will be there. This is not a religious thing. It’s an appointment thing. It’s less about My availability and really more about yours. Your mind and heart and body is more available to Me — to hear me, to understand Me clearly — before the stirring of the day begins. If you desire instruction, if you desire wisdom, seek Me. You will find Me. It’s most effective to seek Me when you are maximally available, when no obligations or distractions tug. Seek Me in the night and the pre-dawn hours. You will be amazed at how much closer, how much more accessible it seems I Am. You will be amazed at the clarity with which you hear My voice. It’s not that I’m closer. It’s that you are quieter in mind, body and spirit.
How to Respond
- Prioritize the Lord.
- Pray, Holy Spirit speak to me. Make appointments with me in the night and pre-dawn hours, and help me to keep them. I desire to commune with You, to hear from You and to delight in the light of Your Presence. Help me to prioritize You.
- Declare, Your favor will fall like rain upon our surrendered lives, like showers reviving the earth.
Psalms 72:6 TPT - Decree, I accept the Lord’s invitation to meet Him in the dark, to meet him in the pre-dawn hours. I choose communion over comfort. I choose His Presence as my great delight. I will hear from Him and receive instruction and direction from Him more clearly than I ever have, as I’m faithful to meet Him before the stirring of the morning.
