Today’s Reading:
2 Corinthians 9
Proverbs 18
Psalm 103
Psalm 112
Here’s my point. A stingy sower will reap a meager harvest, but the one who sows from a generous spirit will reap an abundant harvest. Let giving flow from your heart, not from a sense of religious duty. Let it spring up freely from the joy of giving—all because God loves hilarious generosity! Yes, God is more than ready to overwhelm you with every form of grace, so that you will have more than enough of everything —every moment and in every way. He will make you overflow with abundance in every good thing you do.
2 Corinthians 9:6-8 TPT
I heard the Spirit of the Living God say,
Purity in the offering. I desire clean hands and a pure heart. Let this be the way you give — joyfully with no strings attached Give with just an expectation of a good return, because Your Father in Heaven sees you, and He delights in a cheerful giver. He is the Rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Giving is a part of seeking My Kingdom. Giving opens the door to the Kings’s heart.
Would you like to meet a very important person? Take a generous gift. It will do wonders to gain entrance into his presence.
Proverbs 18:16 TPT
Giving opens the door to the heart of Your King. Your gift will make a way for you. It’s through giving that doors previously locked will come unlocked, that answers previously closed to your understanding will dawn on you, and hidden things will come to light. Giving is a practical way to seek Your King. Giving is inextricably entwined with seeking first the Kingdom. More blessed is the one who gives than the one who receives. Why? Because new doors in the Kingdom, new insights in the Kingdom, new access in the Kingdom is granted to the one who gives with great generosity, from the overflow of a generous heart.
Life is good for the one who is generous and charitable, conducting affairs with honesty and truth. Their circumstances will never shake them and others will never forget their example. They will not live in fear or dread of what may come, for their hearts are firm, ever secure in their faith.
Psalms 112:5-7 TPT
Make it your joy to bless the King’s heart through joyfully giving into my Kingdom. Worship from the overflow of a joyful, blessed heart. Speak gracious words of kindness that bless the hearts of those around you. Give liberally, generously of yourself, from the deep wells of your delight in Me. All kinds of giving bless the Father’s heart. Material giving blesses Him so much, because it’s that material that sits so close to your heart.
How To Respond
- Pray, Lord, show me how to bless Your heart. Show me how to be a zealous and joyful giver. Help me to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness. Help me to have a greater understanding of how to seek Your Kingdom and Your face through joyful giving of myself and my finances.
- Declare, With my whole heart, with my whole life, and with my innermost being, I bow in wonder and love before you, the holy God! Yahweh, you are my soul’s celebration. How could I ever forget the miracles of kindness you’ve done for me? You kissed my heart with forgiveness, in spite of all I’ve done. You’ve healed me inside and out from every disease. You’ve rescued me from hell and saved my life. You’ve crowned me with love and mercy. You satisfy my every desire with good things. You’ve supercharged my life so that I soar again like a flying eagle in the sky!
Psalms 103:1-5 TPT - Decree, I will give with a cheerful heart. And I will hold nothing back that would delight My King. My gift will make a way for me. It will open doors that I could never have seen open any other way.
