Today’s Reading:
1 Thessalonians 2
1 Thessalonians 3
1 Thessalonians 5
Psalm 91
This is why we continually thank God for your lives, because you received our message wholeheartedly. You embraced it not as the fabrication of men but as the word of God. And the word continues to be an energizing force in you who believe.
1 Thessalonians 2:13 TPT
I heard the Spirit of the Living God of All Truth say,
Trust in the Word of God. Trust that I say what I mean, and I mean what I say. Trust in the inspired Word of God. Storm clouds are ahead. They are gathering and dark and rapidly approaching, even as dark clouds are already overhead. Now you can still see the sun shining. The sun will be much harder to see in the days ahead.
But you, beloved brothers and sisters, are not living in the dark, allowing that day to creep up on you like a thief coming to steal. For you are all children of the light and children of the day. We don’t belong to the night nor to darkness. This is why we must not fall asleep, as the rest do, but keep wide awake and clearheaded. For those who are asleep sleep the night away, and drunkards get drunk at night. But since we belong to the day, we must stay alert and clearheaded by placing the breastplate of faith and love over our hearts, and a helmet of the hope of salvation over our thoughts. For God has not destined us for wrath but to possess salvation through our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One.
1 Thessalonians 5:4-9 TPT
The storm that is approaching will cause low visibility conditions, but your anchor will hold. With Christ as your Solid Rock, and your anchor to Him firm and secure, you will not moved, or swept away. But you will feel the fullness of the storm. You will feel and experience the heavy rains and winds as they come through. In the midst of the storm, you can be at perfect peace, even as the rain pelts your skin and the winds temporarily take your breath away. Don’t panic. Don’t give in to fear. You are anchored to your Rock, Christ Jesus. Your place is secure, and you will not be moved or swept away. But you will feel the fullness of the storm as it comes through. You will feel as though you are living among shadows and can’t see the light. Remember, My light is inside of you. In this storm if you want to be able to see, to truly see what’s going on — if you want to see your surroundings and the days ahead in these low visibility conditions, you will have to rise and shine.
And may the Lord increase your love until it overflows toward one another and for all people, just as our love overflows toward you. Then your hearts will be strengthened in holiness so that you may be flawless and pure before the face of our God and Father at the appearing of our Lord Jesus with all his holy ones. Amen!
1 Thessalonians 3:12-13 TPT
You will have to be the light I have equipped and purposed for you to be, and as you join with other bearers of My light, the scene will get brighter and brighter. Don’t forsake the gathering of the brethren in the days of the storm. The gathering is where you will gain the most visibility, and you will become a place of refuge for many seeking light, kinship and answers in the midst of the storm. My Church will be a shelter and refuge amidst the storm — not the building, the people. My True Church, the ones who live and move and have their being in Me, the ones who are entwined as one with Me, My Church, My Ekklesia, My People will be a shelter from the storm.
How to Respond
- Trust the Lord. Read and meditate on His Word. Embed it in your heart.
- Pray, Jesus thank You for being my anchor and my firm foundation — the Rock on which I stand. Thank You for providing a way for me to be secure and at total peace even in the midst of very stormy and dark conditions. Help me to rise and shine, to be a light and to be a part of Your True Church that offers shelter, refuge and brings Your light to those who need it. Help us to endure and to worship through it Lord.
- Declare, For here is what the Lord has spoken to me: “Because you loved me, delighted in me, and have been loyal to my name, I will greatly protect you. I will answer your cry for help every time you pray, and you will feel my presence in your time of trouble. I will deliver you and bring you honor. I will satisfy you with a full life and with all that I do for you. For you will enjoy the fullness of my salvation!”
Psalms 91:14-16 TPT - Decree, I will not be moved. I will stand firm on Christ my Solid Rock. I will not falter or faint. I will not grow weary in well doing. I will rise and shine. I will be the light that Jesus died to enable me to be. I will join with my brothers and sisters in Christ to provide light, understanding, compassion and shelter to those who need to be anchored to Jesus and who need refuge from the storm.
