Today’s Reading:
Psalm 90
Psalm 119

For all of our faults and flaws are in full view to you. Everything we want to hide, you search out and expose by the radiance of your face.
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭90‬:‭8‬ ‭TPT‬‬

I saw a vision of finely ground, perfect flour in a bowl, and at the bottom of the bowl under this fine flour were grey pebbles, granules and debris. Then I heard the Spirit of the Living God say,
There is mixture in the offering. The grain is not impure, but it has not been sifted. You must sift the grain before you bring it to Me, because only what’s pure is acceptable to Me.

Lord, who fully knows the power of your passion and the intensity of your emotions? Help us to remember that our days are numbered, and help us to interpret our lives correctly. Set your wisdom deeply in our hearts so that we may accept your correction.
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭90‬:‭11‬-‭12‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Choose what’s best, and make it purified. Don’t do the work and make the effort to bring your best but then not clean out the debris that naturally gets picked up along the way. Purify yourself, and purify your offering. Don’t let junk that you have not dealt with make it into the offering. Your offering can only be pure if you sift out the bits that will set people’s teeth on edge, if you sift out the pieces that will cause harm if they make it through. An acceptable offering is not just a pure heart and a pure intent. It’s also not allowing the trash and debris that gets naturally collected along the way to make it into what you present and offer as a gift to Me. Purify yourself, yes. And be sure that what you bring has been shaken out and sifted well, so only that which is pure remains.

O Lord our God, let your sweet beauty rest upon us. Come work with us, and then our works will endure; you will give us success in all we do.
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭90‬:‭17‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Don’t bring an offering that though wholesome and pure in and of itself, carries with it debris that would set anyone’s teeth on edge. I desire for you to bring a pure gift with no mixture, so I may bless it and multiply it back to you three fold.

Scribe’s Note:
In Leviticus we learn that grain offerings were acceptable primarily as voluntary expressions of worship, thanksgiving, and dedication (anytime, in various forms), or specifically as firstfruits at harvest. The focus was always on bringing the best to God in obedience to the detailed instructions.

I believe what the Lord was showing me and speaking this morning was about good work that was being done but the intentions, motives or ego behind it were not completely sanctified and made holy. In order for our work to succeed, it has to be more than good work done with good intentions. Our motives, egos, hurts and frustrations must be dealt with and cleared out for two reasons — so in our presentation/offering we 1) don’t offend the Lord and 2) so we don’t offend others. We must be purified and holy, so our offering (professional work, praise, financial gift, volunteer effort, daily chore, etc.) is acceptable. When our offering is acceptable, He causes our work to succeed, and it qualifies us to receive The Lord’s multiplicative blessing.

How to Respond

  • Pray, Lord, show me what sifting out my personal opinions, hurts, complaints, ego and other junk looks like in advance of bringing forward an offering of any kind to you — whether praise, whether work, whether financial or otherwise. I want all that I bring to you to come in purity — not with any mixture.
  • Declare, Throughout the night I think of you, dear God; I treasure your every word to me. All this joy is mine as I follow your ways! You are my satisfaction, Lord, and all that I need, so I’m determined to do everything you say. With all my heart I seek your favor; pour out your grace on me as you promised! When I realize that I’m going astray, I turn back to obey your instructions. I give my all to follow your revelation-light; I will not delay to obey.
    ‭‭— Psalms‬ ‭119‬:‭55‬-‭60‬ ‭TPT‬‬
  • Decree, I will ask Holy Spirit to help me examine my heart, motives and emotions before I bring an offering to Him. I will be holy because He is holy. I want all that I offer Him to be worthy, acceptable and pleasing in His sight. As I do this faithfully, He will cause my work to succeed and to prosper.
