Today’s Reading:
Daniel 2
Matthew 11
Proverbs 8
Psalm 84
“May the blessed name of God be praised forever and ever, for wisdom and might are his alone. He alone controls the changes of times and seasons. He enthrones and dethrones kings, he imparts wisdom to the wise, and he pours out revelation-knowledge to those with understanding. He alone reveals deep secrets and mysteries and knows what lies in darkness, for he radiates glory-light all around him.”
Daniel 2:20-22 TPT
I heard the Spirit of the Living God say,
I will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Me. Perfect peace comes without understanding. Don’t mistake the pursuit of knowing for the pursuit of peace. They are not the same. You can know and not have peace. And you can have peace and not know. You can also have peace and know, but knowing is not required for peace. I Am required for peace. Knowing is optional. So don’t make it the highest prize.
“Then Jesus exclaimed, “Father, thank you, for you are Lord, the Supreme Ruler over heaven and earth! And you have hidden the great revelation of your authority from those who are proud and think they are wise and unveiled it instead to little children.”
Matthew 11:25 TPT
I Am the highest prize, and in Me is perfect peace. With Me is perfect peace. And I will give you rest. Pursuit of knowledge and understanding cannot in and of itself give you rest — nor will it. True rest can only come from Me, in Me, with Me and through Me. Rest is not for the fakers — those who fake head knowledge to promote themselves. There is no rest for them. Rest is for the humble. Rest is for the obedient. Rest is for those who wait and rely upon and trust in Me alone. Rest cannot come from man’s wisdom, because it is constantly seeking, never satiated, never chill.
““You will find true success when you find me, for I have insight into wise plans that are designed just for you. I hold in my hands living-understanding, courage, and strength. I empower kings to reign and rulers to make laws that are just. I empower princes to rise and take dominion, and generous ones to govern the earth. I will show my love to those who passionately love me. For they will search and search continually until they find me.”
Proverbs 8:14-17 TPT
Rest is available and peace is available to those who seek knowledge through wisdom, guided by My Spirit from the place of rest, from the place of My delegated authority. Solomon said it and he was right, the pursuit of knowledge is vanity. But My wisdom bears every fruit and feeds nations. Don’t look for answers. Look to the one who created the system. There you will find rest, peace and perfected answers that cannot come apart from Me. Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all of these things will be added unto you. I Am the treasure that you keep. Seek Me first.
How to Respond
- Pray, Holy Spirit help me to put down my need for knowing and understanding, and seek You first instead. I want to seek Your Presence, because it’s where Your glory dwells. It’s where I can rest and be in perfect peace.
- Declare, “For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, How blessed is the man who trusts in You!”
Psalms 84:11-12 NASB1995 - Decree, I am prioritizing my pursuit of the Lord and the rest and peace that only He can bring. Everything else is secondary. He is the Giver of every good and perfect gift, and He is the Father of Heavenly Lights who shines on us. I will prize Him above knowledge and understanding. And as I seek Him and His wisdom, His perspective, He will unlock Heaven’s mysteries for me.
