Today’s Reading:
Matthew 6
Psalm 46
Proverbs 3
Hebrews 4
“So above all, constantly seek God’s kingdom and his righteousness, then all these less important things will be given to you abundantly.”
Matthew 6:33 TPT
I heard the Spirit of the Living God say,
Seek Me first. Seek My pleasure, My approval, My delight and My will first. And watch what happens in your life. Watch the transformed landscape. Watch the vistas open up. Watch the resources and provision that miraculously come in. I have taken My place atop Mt. Zion. I’m nearer than I’ve ever been. Stay close to Me.
“God has a constantly flowing river whose sparkling streams bring joy and delight to his people. His river flows right through the city of God Most High, into his holy dwelling places. God is in the midst of his city, secure and never shaken. At daybreak his help will be seen with the appearing of the dawn.”
Psalms 46:4-5 TPT
From Mt. Zion flows a river, a stream which makes the hearts of My people glad. It waters them and refreshes them. It soothes them and revives parched souls. Seek Me while I may be found. Come near. Come to the foot of Mt. Zion. Come to the place where My living waters flow. They will impart to you living understanding, health and life everlasting — abundant life everlasting. You have your work boots on. Take them off, and refresh your weary feet in the waters of My streaming goodness. Find My mercy wrapping around you as you rest on the shore. This is the time of recuperation before great exploits. This is the time of a break between multi-front wars. Allow My canopy of kindness and joy to cover you. Allow My favor to wrap around you and give you rest. Receive the rest.
“Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go. Don’t think for a moment that you know it all, for wisdom comes when you adore him with undivided devotion and avoid everything that’s wrong. Then you will find the healing refreshment your body and spirit long for.”
Proverbs 3:5-8 TPT
Don’t be itching to get back to the front lines. There will be plenty of time for that. Take the breather I’ve blessed you with. Rest in My goodness, My faithfulness and My open arms. Here you will find strength for the days and battles ahead. You will be imparted with new weapons, tools, gifts and insights. And I will rejuvenate your mind, soul and body. You will feel fresh and young and full of power again. Pull aside when I say pull aside. Rest when I say rest. The battles ahead are fierce. You need this provision of rest. You need this space to marvel in wonder at My grace, My goodness and My peace. Don’t run off to the front lines just yet. Now is a time for rest.
How to Respond
- Pray, Holy Spirit thank You for leading me to pull aside and rest. Help me to fully be present in the place of rest. Help me to refocus my attention and recenter my will on seeking Your Kingdom, Your ways, Your approval and Your righteousness first. Help me to keep the wars and battles in their proper place. They are not my master. You are. Refresh me, heal me, rejuvenate and revitalize me in all the places I am weary.
- Declare, “Now the promise of entering into God’s rest is still for us today. So we must be extremely careful to ensure that we all embrace the fullness of that promise and not fail to experience it.”
Hebrews 4:1 TPT - Decree, I will seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. I will pull aside and receive the rest He has for me. I will not plow forward into the next battle without receiving His rest, His refreshing and a new measure of His grace, mercy, kindness, joy and favor. He will strengthen me and uphold me with His righteous right hand. When the Lord leads me back into battle, I will go at full strength.
