Today’s Reading:
Deuteronomy 11
Psalm 119
but your own eyes have seen all the great work of the Lord which He did. “You shall therefore keep every commandment which I am commanding you today, so that you may be strong and go in and possess the land into which you are about to cross to possess it; so that you may prolong your days on the land which the Lord swore to your fathers to give to them and to their descendants, a land flowing with milk and honey.
Deuteronomy 11:7-9 NASB1995
I heard the Spirit of the Living God say,
Change grace is here. Step into the new. Step into the new thing I have for you. Cross the threshold of change. Battles have been fought and won to get you to the point of this threshold, but you must cross it. You must choose to not stay in the place of the former battle, to not stay in the place where failure and correction have happened. You acknowledged them, learned from them, and you have blessed My Name. What’s past is past, and you are blessed to have learned from it, to have fought through personal battles and even corporate battles and to have won. Now is the time to cross the threshold. It can be hard for one who is accustomed to warring to step over into the new thing. But that is what you are to do.
For the land, into which you are entering to possess it, is not like the land of Egypt from which you came, where you used to sow your seed and water it with your foot like a vegetable garden. But the land into which you are about to cross to possess it, a land of hills and valleys, drinks water from the rain of heaven, a land for which the Lord your God cares; the eyes of the Lord your God are always on it, from the beginning even to the end of the year. “It shall come about, if you listen obediently to my commandments which I am commanding you today, to love the Lord your God and to serve Him with all your heart and all your soul, that He will give the rain for your land in its season, the early and late rain, that you may gather in your grain and your new wine and your oil. He will give grass in your fields for your cattle, and you will eat and be satisfied.
Deuteronomy 11:10-15 NASB1995
The place you are at the precipice of leaving is one where old battles have been fought and won and tough lessons have been learned. Course corrections have been made, and now it’s time for the new thing. Don’t linger in that old place, that old mindset. Don’t spend too much time reflecting on the past or even the lesson. You have internalized the lesson. Move forward with it. Cross over with it. That is the weapon you will war with in this new place. My grace for crossing the threshold is here. This place is much more spacious and much more free. The battles you have fought and won in the place where you still stand have been battles that constrained you, that boxed you in and shut down your voice. Freedom to move, to leap, to run, to enjoy and to speak are on the other side of this threshold of change. All you have to do is cross it. You can even command that the door shuts and is permanently sealed behind you, so you can be assured that you won’t wander back onto that old place. That time is done.
For you are about to cross the Jordan to go in to possess the land which the Lord your God is giving you, and you shall possess it and live in it, and you shall be careful to do all the statutes and the judgments which I am setting before you today.
Deuteronomy 11:31-32 NASB1995
This is the time of the new thing. This is the time to cross the threshold of change. This is the crossing over into greater liberty, greater opportunity. It’s a place where you live in the fullness of joy. Cross over my dear. You’ve stayed in this place long enough. The battles have been fought and won. The lessons have been learned. It’s time to move on from this place.
How to Respond
- Pray, Lord thank You that Your grace for change is here. Thank You for seeing me through the battles of this place and for giving me great victory. Thank You for Your correction and discipline in areas that needed course correction. Your love and discipline, Your guidance is such a gift. Thank You Lord. Help me to leave this place and leave what is now in the past behind me. Help me to cross over and to take the lessons and victories up as weapons and tools for this new place.
- Declare, Lord, never forget the promises you’ve made to me, for they are my hope and confidence.
Psalms 119:49 TPT - Decree, I cross over the threshold of change. I command the door behind me to shut and be permanently sealed. I will never go back to that place or those old battles. They are won, and they are past. The victories and the lessons from that place have become new tools and weapons for me. I will delight in this spacious new place the Lord has provided me — one of great opportunities, where I can move and speak freely, where I can run. All glory be to God who has brought me through the battles and lessons of old into this new place.
