Today’s Reading:
2 Kings 2
Proverbs 15
Proverbs 25
Psalm 51
1 Corinthians 5
One day the men of the city said to Elisha, “You can see for yourself, master, how well our city is located. But the water is polluted and nothing grows.” He said, “Bring me a brand-new bowl and put some salt in it.” They brought it to him. He then went to the spring, sprinkled the salt into it, and proclaimed, “God’s word: I’ve healed this water. It will no longer kill you or poison your land.” And sure enough, the water was healed—and remains so to this day, just as Elisha said.
2 Kings 2:19-22 MSG
I heard the Spirit of the Living God say,
Purity starts with one. One choice, one person, one action. Purity, true purity can be a contagion. Purity can transform the murkiest of waters, the filthiest of swamps — just by being pure, by being unapologetically pure. Carriers of My love also carry My glory. They emit it, and they change the atmosphere.
God conceals the revelation of his word in the hiding place of his glory. But the honor of kings is revealed by how they thoroughly search out the deeper meaning of all that God says. The heart of a king is full of understanding, like the heavens are high and the ocean is deep. If you burn away the impurities from silver, a sterling vessel will emerge from the fire. And if you purge corruption from the kingdom, a king’s reign will be established in righteousness.
Proverbs 25:2-5 TPT
It’s the glory of a king to search out a matter. Purity and an honest assessment, a deep uncovering of truth can right many wrongs, can bring submerged swamp creatures, predators to light. I require purity. I desire truth in the innermost parts, and the job of one who loves truth is to search out a matter, to parse through the details, and allow the findings guided by My Spirit to reveal and resonate, to resound with truth.
Yet in no way was I referring to avoiding contact with unbelievers who are immoral, or greedy, or swindlers, or those who worship other gods—for that would mean you’d have to isolate yourself from the world entirely!
1 Corinthians 5:10 TPT
The life of a pure one is not living in a separate world. It is invading the darkness, and searching out truth. It is uncovering the wickedness that has trapped many, sucked innocent ones in and is eating away at the beautiful life that I intended. Truth lovers pursue truth. Purity disrupts corruption, and an honest uncovering brings accountability and healing.
Lovers of God hunger after truth, but those without understanding feast on foolishness and don’t even realize it.
Proverbs 15:14 TPT
It’s time for the lovers of truth to arise. It’s time for the lovers of Me to glory in searching matters out — to bring truth, to bring uncovering, accountability and justice. All of those things bring freedom. Because it is the truth that sets men free. Search the matters out. Expose the darkness, because the truth will set you free.
How to Respond
- Pray, Lord, guide me into the places that You want me to search out — for the sake of my own freedom and that of others. Help me to live in purity, in truth and in bold confidence that You are my Source and my Protector, and Your Holy Spirit leads me into all truth.
- Declare, I know that you delight to set your truth deep in my spirit. So come into the hidden places of my heart and teach me wisdom. — Psalms 51:6 TPT
- Decree, I am a priest and a king unto the Lord my God. I am rising up in the kingly authority that the Lord has given me, and I will search out the truth of matters as the Lord leads. I will be purity that dispels and transforms darkness and the murkiness of the swamp. I will not be intimidated, dismayed or silenced. I will rise up in bold confidence, because corruption and evil are no match for the wonder working power of the Lord my God.
