Today’s Reading:
John 21
Daniel 2
1 Peter 5
Proverbs 3
2 Corinthians 4
After they had breakfast, Jesus said to Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you burn with love for me more than these?” Peter answered, “Yes, Lord! You know that I have great affection for you!” “Then take care of my lambs,” Jesus said. Jesus repeated his question the second time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you burn with love for me?” Peter answered, “Yes, my Lord! You know that I have great affection for you!” “Then take care of my sheep,” Jesus said. Then Jesus asked him again, “Peter, son of Jonah, do you have great affection for me?” Peter was saddened by being asked the third time and said, “My Lord, you know everything. You know that I burn with love for you!” Jesus replied, “Then feed my lambs!”
John 21:15-17 TPT
I heard the Spirit of the Living God of all truth say,
Trust and obey. Trust Me and obey Me, it’s that simple. It’s not complicated. It’s not hard. Feed My sheep. Do the work I’ve called you to do with great care, with love and tenderness and fierceness and passion; and I’ll take care of the rest. Focus your heart, your energy, your time and your devotion on Me and on the assignment I have given you. I will take care of the rest.
If you bow low in God’s awesome presence, he will eventually exalt you as you leave the timing in his hands. Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you.
1 Peter 5:6-7 TPT
I will move you forward when it feels like you are stationary and stagnant, and I will exalt you, promote you at the right time. I Am for you, and My love for you is immeasurable, though it can be measured by the sacrifice of My only begotten Son, King Jesus. So work out your salvation with joy, with a song and with fear and trembling for the time is short and will not delay. My Hand is guiding you. My Spirit wind is at your back even if you can’t perceive the progress. Yours is to obey. Trust and obey.
May the blessed name of God be praised forever and ever, for wisdom and might are his alone. He alone controls the changes of times and seasons. He enthrones and dethrones kings, he imparts wisdom to the wise, and he pours out revelation-knowledge to those with understanding. He alone reveals deep secrets and mysteries and knows what lies in darkness, for he radiates glory-light all around him.
Daniel 2:20-22 TPT
Grace showers are here. And favor rains are here. I Am empowering you for greater things. It comes in the weight room. It comes on the training field. It comes in simple, disciplined obedience to Me, My voice, My Word and My instructions that I have written on your heart. Don’t complicate it. Just do what I’ve called you to do. I Am here, and I Am moving you forward. I will exalt you at the right time. Not one minute sooner. I’m the one who causes fruit to ripen, and I will judge when it’s ready to be picked and enjoyed by all. I determine the times and seasons.
Obedience produces sweet fruit, and it makes you one who yields a harvest in season and out of season. You focus on the work I’ve put in your heart and hand to do, and I will bring the bounty. This is a very good season. We are walking into the beginning of a very fruitful season.
How to Respond
- Trust the Lord, and obey His voice fully and quickly.
- Pray, Holy Spirit help me to not overcomplicate or overthink Your instruction to me. Help me to simply move forward in what You’ve called me to do. Help me to be one who is faithful, who trusts You completely and who is fully obedient to Your voice.
- Declare, Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go. Don’t think for a moment that you know it all, for wisdom comes when you adore him with undivided devotion and avoid everything that’s wrong. Then you will find the healing refreshment your body and spirit long for.
Proverbs 3:5-8 TPT - Declare, We are like common clay jars that carry this glorious treasure within, so that this immeasurable power will be seen as God’s, not ours. Though we experience every kind of pressure, we’re not crushed. At times we don’t know what to do, but quitting is not an option. We are persecuted by others, but God has not forsaken us. We may be knocked down, but not out. We continually share in the death of Jesus in our own bodies so that the resurrection life of Jesus will be revealed through our humanity.
2 Corinthians 4:7-10 TPT - Decree, Great is the faithfulness of the Lord. His mercies are new every morning. I trust the Lord, because He is so faithful and because of His great love for me. So I will be quick to fully obey His every command and do it with passion and a song. He is my portion. His is my provider. He is where my help comes from. He is moving me forward. He will promote me in His perfect timing, and He is causing my life to bear great, sweet fruit as I simply trust and obey.
