Here is the message of Yahweh to Zerubbabel: “You will not succeed by military might nor by your own strength but by my Spirit,” says Yahweh, Commander of Angel Armies.

The name Zerubbabel means “offspring of Babylon.” Through Cyrus, the Lord freed Zerubbabel, and he led the first wave of exiles out from Babylon alongside Joshua the priest. This was an exodus event, and Zerubbabel was instructed by the Lord to rebuild the temple of God. Zerubbabel and the people started from ruins and slowly rebuilt the temple.
We are the Zerubbabels of this generation — called and anointed to be leaders and builders to restore what was once great and what had once been a tremendous blessing and gift from the Lord.
I heard the Spirit of the Living God of Truth say,
Selfishness has no place here. Selfish ambition and conceit have been destroyed. Vanity has been defeated. Those things have passed. They are done, defeated and destroyed. The way forward is humility. The way forward is confidence, boldness and rest. The way forward is moved by the impulses of My Spirit — not by might, not by your own understanding. Seek Me first in every move. In every decision you will find I’m close at hand. You will find I Am right here in the midst of you. I have brought you through a time of great testing and refining, and now I have you in a place where humility reigns.
“And what are you, O mighty mountain? Before you, Zerubbabel, this mountain of obstacles will crumble. Then he will set the capstone in place to shouts of ‘Grace and beauty be upon it!’ ”

It’s amazing how many blows can be delivered to the advancing enemy from a place of humility. Arrogance is a false up-higher position where one may be able to dump onto the troops from above for a moment. But their place above is compromised and their seemingly superior vantage point will create a trap that gives them no place to hide.
Yahweh is my strength and my wraparound shield. When I fully trust in you, help is on the way. I jump for joy and burst forth with ecstatic, passionate praise! I will sing songs of what you mean to me!
Psalms 28:7 TPT
Advance with humility. Advance with honor and carry a culture of honor. Have fun along the way. Delight in Me, and I will be your strength. Where we are now seems like an overgrown jungle with low visibility. But My armies, Heaven’s Host are your air cover, and they surround you as you go. The word is advance. Do not give up. Do not back down. Enjoy the forward march. It is heavy. It is weighty. It requires endurance, vision, closeness to Me and very good humor. This is the way forward. It looks hard. It may feel difficult and like you are pushing forward with very little ability to recognize advancement. It may seem like you are not taking much ground at all. But I have refined and equipped you for this forward march. I have placed you in a position to lead and to see what is ahead.
You will be the inner strength of all your people, Yahweh, the mighty protector of all, and the saving strength for all your anointed ones. Save your people whom you love, and bless your chosen ones. Be our shepherd leading us forward, forever carrying us in your arms!
Psalms 28:8-9 TPT
Trust Me, and march. Trust Me, and trudge forward. There is a lightness in marching forward in destiny. There is a lightness in marching forward in partnerships that I have knit together. Take joy in it. Delight in it. From the outside it looks like drudgery, like very heavy work, and like you are carrying a very heavy load. But I have built and honed you for this. And with Me, in Me, it is light. I will give you stretches in which you seem to run so swiftly ahead with this full pack, this heavy load on your back leading the troops; and people will look on astonished. But this is what it means to be empowered by My Spirit. This is what it feels like to be walking in alignment with Heaven and with your destiny. Do not shrink back from the march ahead. The word is advance in your destiny, your calling. Advance with humility. Go.
How to Respond
- Trust that where the Lord has you is leading you forward in destiny.
- Pray, Holy Spirit thank You for bringing me through the desert. Thank You for demolishing those things that would have destroyed me — vanity, arrogance, and selfish ambition. Thank You for refining me and re-working me into someone of great endurance who can walk forward in humility with bold confidence because You are with me. Help me to be led by Your Spirit and continually seek You for direction.
- Declare, I will trust in the Lord completely, and I will not rely on my own opinions. With all my heart, I will rely on him to guide me, and he will lead me in every decision I make. I will become intimate with him in whatever I do, and he will lead me wherever I go.

The work He has done on me in the wilderness, in the desert, in the place of barrenness has accomplished its purpose. I am no longer the former version of myself. The Lord has made me into a person of great endurance and strength who can move forward in humility and bold confidence because of what I have walked through with Him. I will take joy in Him. I will continually seek His counsel and direction. And I will move forward in lightness and destiny and have fun with very good humor — even though to those on the outside it looks like drudgery; and it looks like I am carrying a very heavy load. The Lord made me for this. He has refined me for this, and with Him I will more than succeed.
