Today’s Reading:
Isaiah 43
Isaiah 55
Psalm 119
Proverbs 3
“Do not call to mind the former things, Or ponder things of the past. Behold, I will do something new, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.”
Isaiah 43:18-19 NASB1995
I heard the Spirit of the Living God say,
I’m shifting things. I’m making massive shifts and moving pieces on the board into positions and locations they have neither known nor desired. But they fit. Unusual change is coming, and people’s hearts are picking up on it. Changes in desires and dreams are surfacing, seemingly out of nowhere — because I Am doing a new thing.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, And do not return there without watering the earth And making it bear and sprout, And furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.”
Isaiah 55:8-11 NASB1995
And don’t you know how it confuses the enemy when your heart and mind were so set in one direction? You appeared to be heading one direction, and suddenly you change course. Don’t you think that disrupts his plans? Don’t you see that it renders his roadblocks and plans for harassment and frustration void. He’s got to go back to the drafting board to develop a new plan. Meanwhile, you are off — well down the road doing a new thing that I birthed suddenly in your heart. And it is great. It fits My plans and purposes, and it releases the adrenaline and blood flow of adventure that has been long missing in your life. The status quo has become drab, though busy. It has become routinized while still somewhat stressful. I’m stripping that away. I’m stripping it down, and I’m saying, it’s time to do a new thing. It’s time to go a new way. It’s time to change methods, directions and focus.
“Guide me into the paths that please you, for I take delight in all that you say. Cause my heart to bow before your words of wisdom and not to the wealth of this world. Help me turn my eyes away from illusions so that I pursue only that which is true; drench my soul with life as I walk in your paths. Reassure me of your promises, for I am your beloved, your servant who bows before you.”
Psalms 119:35-38 TPT
You have been a blunt instrument. Your work has been very straightforward, vocal and sure. But for the new thing I Am doing in you and with you, the call is more subtle. The call is more nuanced. And the workflow is simplified. Let’s strip it down to its bare bones and look again. What is the word? What is the action? What is the takeaway? And where do we go from here? Clear and actionable with a lot less window dressing. Your silence in the in between — in between assignments, in between purposes causes greater punch to land when you do speak, when the void is filled with your voice, your perspective, your point. So instead of filling every minute, allow the air to have space to breathe. And I will come in after it. And My winds of grace, and favor and blessing will be upon it.
It’s time to do things differently. I’m stirring up your calling in a new way, so be on the lookout for change, and don’t resist it. Lean into it. It will fill your heart with delight. The change is needed. Lean into it.
How to Respond
- Pray, Lord, thank You for seeing every aspect of my life. Thank You for knowing that I need change. Help me to be positioned, ready and open to the change You bring — to my call, assignment and day-to-day. I don’t want to cling on to a good thing or to doing things one particular way and miss out on Your new direction for my life. I want Your change and the adventure it brings.
- Declare, “Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go. Don’t think for a moment that you know it all, for wisdom comes when you adore him with undivided devotion and avoid everything that’s wrong. Then you will find the healing refreshment your body and spirit long for.”
Proverbs 3:5-8 TPT - Decree, The Lord is doing a new thing. I will not cling to current methods, routines or understanding. I release it all to the Lord for redirecting, changing and rearranging. I loose my grip, and I say, Lord have Your way. Do the new thing in my life. Do the new thing with me. Do the new thing in the Earth. And let me relish in the change and adventure, grace, blessing and favor that You bring.
