Isaiah 61
The mighty Spirit of Lord Yahweh is wrapped around me because Yahweh has anointed me, as a messenger to preach good news to the poor. He sent me to heal the wounds of the brokenhearted, to tell captives, “You are free,” and to tell prisoners, “Be free from your darkness.” I am sent to announce a new season of Yahweh’s grace and a time of God’s recompense on his enemies, to comfort all who are in sorrow, to strengthen those crushed by despair who mourn in Zion— to give them a beautiful bouquet in the place of ashes, the oil of bliss instead of tears, and the mantle of joyous praise instead of the spirit of heaviness. Because of this, they will be known as Mighty Oaks of righteousness, planted by Yahweh as a living display of his glory.
Isaiah 61:1-3 TPT
I heard the Spirit of the Living God say,
It’s a time of trading. It’s time to lay down that spirit of heaviness, and allow Me to give you a garment of praise in its place. It’s time to lay down the burden of sickness, and receive the gift of healing and fullness of health. It’s time to trade that sorrow you have been carrying for the joy of the Lord. My people should be the most joyful ones on the planet. I don’t want you burdened and weighed down by sickness, sorrow, heartbreak or pain. Shame, lack and sickness are not your portion. That is not the children’s portion. The children’s portion is gladness, full health and the buoyant carrying laughter that comes with the joy of the Lord.
Because you received a double dose of shame and dishonor, you will inherit a double portion of endless joy and everlasting bliss! “For I, Yahweh, love fairness and justice, and I hate stealing and sin. I will rightly repay them because of my faithfulness and enter into an everlasting covenant with them. Their seed will be famous among the nations, and their descendants the center of attention of the people. All who see them will recognize that they are the seed that Yahweh has blessed with favor!”

Shake off that agreement with heaviness. Shake off that lying, deceptive spirit that has gotten you into agreement with fear, doubt, unbelief and mistrust. Shake that all off, and sweep it out. Pick up instead the joy of the Lord, childlike faith that moves mountains and a song in your spirit that changes your movements to dance, that changes your slumped shoulders to bouncing ones, that changes your pain to the vibrant, radiant light of the Lord. Live the difference. I Am the Way Maker and the Difference Maker. Live accordingly. Your portion is laughter, joy, delight in Me and a hope for the future and for today. Don’t get caught up in what ifs or hung up in what has passed. With your eyes fixed straight ahead on Me, choose joy, choose lightness, choose life more abundant.
I will sing and greatly rejoice in Yahweh! My whole being vibrates with shouts of joy in my God! For he has dressed me with salvation and wrapped me in the robe of his righteousness! I appear like a bridegroom on his wedding day, decked out with a beautiful sash, or like a radiant bride adorned with sparkling jewels.

Shed the weights, the heaviness, the fear. Come into alignment with the identity I have given you, not the one you have assumed from others, not the one that has you hidden and unable to truly be seen. Step out into the true identity I have given you. And walk in full confidence, in positional authority in Me and the powerful, unmatched, unfakeable joy of the Lord. Live your life delighted as a delight to the Lord. Live ready, eager and willing to laugh. Position yourself ever on the edge of laughter, because I Am that good. Life can be hard, but you don’t have to be. Live light. Radiate My light inside of you. Walk in full, perfected, ongoing joy, and carry a ready yes for Me.
How to Respond
- Press into the Lord. Ask Him to help you to identify and shed the weights, burden and pain you are carrying, so you can pick up the lightness and fullness of joy that He offers.
- Pray, Lord thank You for loving me so much that You don’t want me to be weighted down any longer. You don’t want me to carry burdens, pain, sickness, sorrow, doubt or suspicion. Help me to break free of those and to choose to receive from You the garment of praise, the oil of gladness and the overwhelming joy of the Lord.
- Declare, My seed will be famous among the nations, and my descendants the center of attention of the people. All who see us will recognize that we are the seed that Yahweh has blessed with favor!
- adapted from Isaiah 61:9 TPT - Decree, I have given to the Lord my sorrow, my shame, my sickness, fear, doubt and the heaviness that I’ve carried, and He has replaced them with the oil of gladness, a garment of praise, with the light of creativity bubbling inside of me and the joy of the Lord causing my lips to be ready to laugh and to sing spontaneously.
