Today’s Reading:
Psalm 32
Psalm 34
Psalm 116
2 Corinthians 6

I hear the Lord saying, “I will stay close to you, instructing and guiding you along the pathway for your life. I will advise you along the way and lead you forth with my eyes as your guide. So don’t make it difficult; don’t be stubborn when I take you where you’ve not been before. Don’t make me tug you and pull you along. Just come with me!”“
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭32‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭TPT‬‬

I heard the Spirit of the Living God say,
I’m walking you into a new day and a new place. Momentum will carry you. Momentum is behind you, and you will be swept up in it. You’ll have to leave behind the old weights and the old ways. You have to shed that which has been weighing you down.

Dear, dear Corinthians, I can’t tell you how much I long for you to enter this wide-open, spacious life. We didn’t fence you in. The smallness you feel comes from within you. Your lives aren’t small, but you’re living them in a small way. I’m speaking as plainly as I can and with great affection. Open up your lives. Live openly and expansively! * * *
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭6‬:‭11‬-‭13‬ ‭MSG‬‬

You can’t carry those weights and keep this pace, yet the momentum will drive you forward. You will be heading for a crash, for burnout, for disaster if you carry those heavy weights while being driven forward at this pace. And you won’t be able to hold on to your old ways either —your old ways of relating to Me, your old ways of communion, your old ways of trusted, secure connection and enjoyment of Me. It’s time to let go of those and open yourself up to a wide variety, a whole unlabeled variety of ways to know Me, to experience Me, to relate to Me. You may taste and find the old way here, but you will delight and find that many, many, many countless more ways exist here, exist in the fast-paced route we are taking; and these ways are being freely poured out for you to enjoy.

”Now I can say to myself and to all, “Relax and rest, be confident and serene, for the Lord rewards fully those who simply trust in him.” God has rescued my soul from death’s fear and dried my eyes of many tears. He’s kept my feet firmly on his path and strengthened me so that I may please him and walk before Yahweh in his fields of life.“
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭116‬:‭7‬-‭9‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Let go of the weights, and let go of the ways that got you here. The pace and momentum with which I Am driving you forward will not allow you to carry those. This is a time for a lighter load. This is a time for trusting that I will meet you, and you will experience Me as you go —not just in the way that you have held onto so tightly and desperately all this time. Let go, and let Me meet you in a new way as the momentum of My Spirit drives you forward to this new place and this new day.

How to Respond

  • Ask the Lord to reveal to you the weights in your spirit that are holding you down and need to be released. Are they fear? Lack of trust? Disappointment? Need for security?
  • Pray, Holy Spirit come. Show me what in my heart and spirit is weighing me down and causing me to live with a heaviness instead of the lightness and freedom that You provide. Help me to acknowledge these and release them to you, so I don’t crash or burnout. Help me to let go of the ways that I have held to so tightly. Help me to release those and allow myself to meet, taste and experience You in new ways as the momentum of Your Spirit drives me forward.
  • Declare, Drink deeply of the pleasures of this God. Experience for yourself the joyous mercies he gives to all who turn to hide themselves in him. Worship in awe and wonder, all you who’ve been made holy! For all who fear him will feast with plenty.
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭34‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭TPT‬‬
  • Decree, I let go of the weights that are holding me down and the ways that are preventing me from meeting the Lord and experiencing the Lord afresh. I will not be one who crashes and burns. I will be one moved along at the pace that the Spirit of the Lord sets, and I will delight to meet Him in as many new ways as are offered along my path.
