Psalm 84
How enriched are they who find their strength in the Lord; within their hearts are the highways of holiness!“
Psalms 84:5 TPT
I heard the Spirit of the Living God say,
Transition is here. It is upon you. Now is the moment. It is not coming. A door to what has been is closing. You are in that middle place of knowing what has been is an ended chapter, but what is yet to come, that new door, has not yet been revealed. It seems like darkness will soon be descending on you, because the light of where you have been is going away as that door closes behind you. And the light of the new thing has not yet shone.
Even when their paths wind through the dark valley of tears, they dig deep to find a pleasant pool where others find only pain. He gives to them a brook of blessing filled from the rain of an outpouring. They grow stronger and stronger with every step forward, and the God of all gods will appear before them in Zion.
Psalms 84:6-7 TPT
It feels like you are stuck between what has been and what is yet to come. It is a confining place. In some ways it is a very isolating place, because no one can sit with you here in the midst of this transition. It’s yours and yours alone. Even just before the door behind you shuts completely, just before it does, the one in front of you that you cannot yet see will burst wide open. It is a wide open door that I Am setting before you, and it will burst open unexpectedly to a bright, broad place. You will gasp for air, as your eyes behold it and your mind tries to comprehend what this new place, this new day, this new chapter will mean.
For the Lord God is brighter than the brilliance of a sunrise! Wrapping himself around me like a shield, he is so generous with his gifts of grace and glory. Those who walk along his paths with integrity will never lack one thing they need, for he provides it all! O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, what euphoria fills those who forever trust in you!
Psalms 84:11-12 TPT
Don’t despair over the closing of this chapter. Celebrate it. Don’t rush to shut the door behind you. I will do that too. Just sit in this uncomfortable waiting place of transition alone with Me and soak in My Presence, My goodness. Abide in Me, and soon, momentarily, swiftly this new wide door will lead you into a broad place of new beginnings filled with light and life and boundless possibilities. I Am that good. You will say it, the Lord is that good. He’s better than I ever imagined. This is that time.
How to Respond
- Sing, God is so good. God is so good. God is so good. He’s so good to me.
- Pray, Lord show me what I need to do to be prepared, so I have no unfinished business from this chapter of my life that You are drawing to a close. Help me to not rush the ending or hurry into the yet unseen new beginning. Instead, help me to sit here with You in the place of not knowing and just enjoy Your Presence.
- Declare, For just one day of intimacy with you is like a thousand days of joy rolled into one! I’d rather stand at the threshold in front of the Gate Beautiful, ready to go in and worship my God, than to live my life without you in the most beautiful palace of the wicked.
— Psalms 84:10 TPT - Decree, The current season of my life is drawing to a close. Though I can’t see or know what’s next or even how this season will end, the Lord does. I will get my life prepared for a swift change, so I don’t leave anything undone. And I will minister to the Lord while waiting in this place of transition. Soon He will swing wide a door of opportunity for me to enter a broad, spacious place of endless possibilities, light, fun and adventure. And I will marvel at His goodness. I will not fail to praise Him for what He has done, where He has brought me and all that He’s brought me through.
