Today’s Reading:
2 Corinthians 6
Isaiah 54
Psalm 18

”Dear, dear Corinthians, I can’t tell you how much I long for you to enter this wide-open, spacious life. We didn’t fence you in. The smallness you feel comes from within you. Your lives aren’t small, but you’re living them in a small way. I’m speaking as plainly as I can and with great affection. Open up your lives. Live openly and expansively! * * *“
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭6‬:‭11‬-‭13‬ ‭MSG‬‬

I heard the Spirit of the Living God say,
Grace is here for building. Grace is here for growth, for expansion. Open the curtains of your eyes. Peel them open, and see the great, wider vistas before you. I have not called you to a small life. You are the one who has boxed yourself in. You have created nice, tidy little routines and methods and approaches. It’s time to blow some of those up and start afresh in a place and a way that allows for growth. The approach has been too small. The space has been too tight for growth. Open your eyes to the vistas unknown, unexplored, untouched.

“Rejoice with singing, you barren one! You who have never given birth, burst into a song of joy and shout, you who have never been in labor! For the deserted wife will have more children than the married one,” says Yahweh. “Increase is coming, so enlarge your tent and add extensions to your dwelling. Hold nothing back! Make the tent ropes longer and the pegs stronger. You will increase and spread out in every direction. Your sons and daughters will conquer nations and revitalize desolate cities.
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭54‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭TPT‬‬

I’m calling you to greater things, to vaster plains, but your mindset and your structures must change. They must expand. Some must be demolished and made brand new. Trust Me to guide you. Trust Me to show you how to build, how to lengthen your tent cords, how to strengthen your tent pegs, so that expansion and growth are possible, so increase is possible, so you have room to receive. The way you have structured your life and your calling has not left room for greater gifts, for sizable gifts, for change. This is a time of demolition that clears the way for a greater, more appropriate, expansion-ready structure. It’s time to both demolish and to build.

“You unhappy one, storm-tossed and troubled, I am ready to rebuild you with precious stones and your intimacy with me will be built on a foundation of sapphires. I will make your towers of rubies, your gates of sparkling jewels, and all your walls of precious, delightful stones.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭54‬:‭11‬-‭12‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Expansion is here, but only if you create a structure that is suitable for growth. Have fun with the demolition, because it is clearing the way for unlimited, tremendous, breathtaking growth. Don’t cling to the old ways. Delight in the demolition, so you can relish in and fully enjoy the growth.

How to Respond

  • Pray, Holy Spirit come and show me what mindsets, systems and structures I have set up in my life and profession that need to be demolished to make room for growth. I don’t want to live boxed in because of small-minded thinking or because of systems and structures that are not suitable for the growth that is coming. Help me to enjoy demolishing those things that have become so ingrained and rote. Instruct me how to build new mindsets, systems and structures that welcome and sustain expansion.
  • Declare, His love broke open the way, and he brought me into a beautiful, broad place. He rescued me—because his delight is in me! — Psalms‬ ‭18‬:‭19‬ ‭TPT‬‬
  • Decree, I will not cling to my old ways of thinking or operating. I will tear down everything the Lord shows me is hindering me from growth. Nothing in my life will prevent the expansion into the wide open vistas the Lord has for me. I will build new expansion-worthy structures, systems and mindsets, and I will receive tremendous gifts that I will have the capacity to steward.
