Psalm 71
Proverbs 3
It was you who supported me from the day I was born, loving me, helping me through my life’s journey. You’ve made me into a miracle; no wonder I trust you and praise you forever! Many marvel at my success, but I know it is all because of you, my mighty protector!
Psalms 71:6-7 TPT
I heard the Spirit of the Living God say,
Choices are coming. Choices are trotting like horses coming to you. They will appear one after another after another after another after another, and you will have to choose. Look for alignment. Look for beauty. Look for what makes your heart soar. Look for what seems crazy in an amazing way. Don’t look for the short term fix. Don’t look for the choice that’s off the reservation, out of alignment, out of your wheel house, out of your calling. Look for beautiful alignment that causes sparks to fly and ignites more dreaming, more possibilities than have been available before this choice.
No matter what, I’ll trust in you to help me. Nothing will stop me from praising you to magnify your glory!
Psalms 71:14 TPT
My grace is coming with these choices, and I want you to choose delight. I want you to choose that which lights your soul on fire and causes your eyes to shine and sparkle. Choices provide a honing, a narrowing on your calling. That’s what makes your calling special. That’s what makes alignment a key. I have not made you to be scattershot. I will show you the ways that all I that have called you to aligns, connects and produces a beautiful tapestry. It doesn’t have to make sense to anyone else. And you don’t need the approval or understanding of anyone else. The beauty of this and the truth of this is that it is was made for you, and its part of the purpose I emblazoned on your heart before time began. You will know what lights you up. You will know what causes your heart to soar. And you will know what seems like low hanging fruit of short-term gain that causes your soul to say, that’s drudgery!
I couldn’t begin to count the times you’ve been there for me. With the skill of a poet I’ll never run out of things to say about how you faithfully kept me from danger. I will come forth in your mighty strength, O my Lord God. I’ll tell everyone that you alone are the perfect one. From my childhood you’ve been my teacher, and I’m still telling everyone of your miracle-wonders!
Psalms 71:15-17 TPT
I want you to play the long game. I want your steps, every one of them to align with the long game, not to be detours or sidesteps that don’t match the picture, the vision that I’ve placed in your heart. My steps that I call you to take, the stepping stones and bridge planks that I set out before you may not make sense to anyone else, but they don’t need to. They need to resound softly or loudly in your heart. I will take you the way you need to go. No one else needs to understand, approve or like it. This is between Me and you. Those who love you, I’ll bring along. Those who see the true you will step out of the way and let My Spirit lead. It’s a beautiful time of choices. They are trotting into your life one by one, and My grace is here to guide your choosing. Rest in Me. Delight in Me. This is going to be so much fun.
How to Respond
- Rest in Lord, and allow Him to guide you in the choices that are coming your way.
- Pray, Holy Spirit thank You for leading me and for being right beside me whispering in my ear, “this is the way, walk in it.” Reveal to me the purposes You’ve placed in my heart, and show me how to move step-by-step in partnership and alignment with You and those purposes. I don’t want to get drawn off-track or distracted, and I don’t want to take any unnecessary detours.
- Declare, I will trust in the Lord completely, and I will not rely on my own opinions. With all my heart, I’ll rely on him to guide me, and he will lead me in every decision I make. I will become intimate with him in whatever I do, and he will lead me wherever I go. — adapted from Proverbs 3:5-6 TPT
- Decree, This is a time of choices. The Lord’s grace is here to help me choose correctly. Holy Spirit is here and available to lead me in the way He wants me to go. I will choose correctly. I will choose that which causes my heart to soar. The places the Lord are leading me are for my future and a hope, and He will make it so much fun.
