Today’s Reading:
Jeremiah 29
Isaiah 43
Isaiah 45
Isaiah 55
Here’s what Yahweh says to you: “I know all about the marvelous destiny I have in store for you, a future planned out in detail. My intention is not to harm you but to surround you with peace and prosperity and to give you a beautiful future, glistening with hope.
Jeremiah 29:11 TPT
I heard the Spirit of the Living God say,
Trust in the process. More than that, trust in the One who made the process and Who is walking you through it in your life. I’m walking you through a process, and the road is clear to Me. The path is clear to Me, and the destination and next stop on the journey is very clear to Me. I will show you the outlines, but you won’t see the details. I will show you the way, but you will not perceive the distance. The next stop is a place of life, of rest, of delight and the feeling of home. The next stop is a place that is both familiar and unfamiliar with new but familiar surroundings.
“Stop dwelling on the past. Don’t even remember these former things. I am doing something brand new, something unheard of. Even now it sprouts and grows and matures. Don’t you perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and open up flowing streams in the desert. Wild beasts, jackals, and owls will glorify me. For I supply streams of water in the desert and rivers in the wilderness to satisfy the thirst of my people, my chosen ones, so that you, whom I have shaped and formed for myself, will proclaim my praise.”
Isaiah 43:18-21 TPT
To you it looks like dusk. To you it looks like an end. But I Am your new day, and I Am your bright noon sun. You are walking out the end of a chapter, and you are nearing the new station, the new place, the new destination and new leg of the journey. The terrain is not very different from where you have trod. But more life is here. More shade from the heat and the elements is here. You will still recognize My Presence clearly, and you will still walk by My light.
Your whole perspective is one of seeing your future by the light of your past. That’s how it is coming into focus. The source of your understanding is coming from your past, so you won’t be able to see the details until you arrive in the the moment and can see and touch all that I have been walking you toward.
Thus says the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker: “Ask Me about the things to come concerning My sons, And you shall commit to Me the work of My hands.”
Isaiah 45:11 NASB1995
You see an outline. You see the future. But your past is so bright that it is obscuring your ability to make out what is to come. Let me turn down the light of your past. Let me dim your past, so your future can come into focus. Either way you will get there. But your understanding, your perception and your clarity on the journey will be much greater if you allow me to put a dimmer on your past, so the future can come into focus. I desire for you to see a great deal more than you are seeing, but it requires putting a dimmer on your past.
How to Respond
- Pray, Holy Spirit thank You for walking me along this path that You have perfect knowledge of and that You perfectly and specifically laid out for me. You have my permission to dim the brightness of my past, so I can more clearly and specifically see the details of the future into which You are walking me.
- Declare, The Word that goes out from the mouth of the Lord will be; It will not return to Him empty, Without accomplishing what He desires, And without succeeding in the matter for which He sent it. For I will go out with joy And be led forth with peace; The mountains and the hills will break forth into shouts of joy before me, And all the trees of the field will clap their hands. Instead of the thorn bush the cypress will come up, And instead of the nettle the myrtle will come up, And it will be a memorial to the Lord, For an everlasting sign which will not be cut off.
adapted from Isaiah 55:11-13 NASB1995 - Decree, The Lord has positioned me before an open door, and He is walking me on a path to destiny. He desires for me to see the path and the future more clearly, and that requires me allowing Him to turn down the brightness that is overshadowing it all. As He dims the brightness of my past that has been obscuring my view of the future, I will see and understand the days ahead with detail and clarity.
