Today’s Reading:
Psalm 3
Matthew 11
Hebrews 4
Psalm 23

“But in the depths of my heart I truly know that you, Yahweh, have become my Shield; You take me and surround me with yourself. Your glory covers me continually. You lift high my head. I have cried out to you, Yahweh, from your holy presence. You send me a Father’s help. Pause in his presence”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭3‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭TPT‬‬

I heard the Spirit of the Living God say,
You don’t have to do it all alone. Allow My grace to guide you. Allow My peace to anchor your soul in a way that provides great, unshakeable rest to your mortal body and to your heart, mind and soul. Change is coming. You can face it and receive it from a place of soul rest. Where you have been distracted, harried, stressed and heavy laden, the invitation to rest, the invitation to the life of faith-rest is wide open. Hook your yoke into it and see how much sweeter, lighter and easier life is. The lines on your face smooth. The shoulders that have hovered up by your ears come down, and even your belly is calmed.

““Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Come to me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis. Simply join your life with mine. Learn my ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me. For all that I require of you will be pleasant and easy to bear.””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11‬:‭28‬-‭30‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Rest is not for the lazy. It’s a gift for the doers, the workers, those operating in partnership with Me. Rest is not a sign of weakness. It’s a sign of faith. It’s an outward and inward sign of faith — that I have the resources to cover your needs and more. That includes time, finances, people, skills and fine, mapped-out planning. Rest in Me does not negate the need for work or absolve you of responsibility. It removes the strain, the pressure and the striving. You will be amazed to see how much more you can get done with less effort. You will be stunned to realize that the striving and worry, the stress and the strain were like hauling useless heavy weights behind you as you moved forward. That’s not what I have for you.

“For those of us who believe, faith activates the promise and we experience the realm of confident rest! For he has said, “I was grieved with them and made a solemn oath, ‘They will not enter into my rest.’ ” God’s works have all been completed from the foundation of the world, for it says in the Scriptures, And on the seventh day God rested from all his works. And again, as stated before, They will not enter into my rest. Those who first heard the good news of deliverance failed to enter into that realm of faith’s rest because of their unbelieving hearts. Yet the fact remains that we still have the opportunity to enter into the faith-rest life and experience the fulfillment of the promise!”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4‬:‭3‬-‭6‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Get on My gilded path of light and ease. It’s not that it will all be easy. But the weights are so much lighter. The light is so much brighter. The days hold so much more beauty when your eyes and mind and soul are operating from this place of immovable, anchored, secure faith-rest in Me. This is the goal and the opportunity. Will you enter it? Or will you buck My offer and continue to go your own way? The choice is yours.

How to Respond

  • Pray, Lord, help me to enter into Your life of faith rest. I don’t want to keep dragging needless burdens and weights. I don’t want my work to involve so much strife. Help me to remove the heavy weights and yoke myself instead to Your way.
  • Declare, “Yahweh is my best friend and my shepherd. I always have more than enough. He offers a resting place for me in his luxurious love. His tracks take me to an oasis of peace near the quiet brook of bliss. That’s where he restores and revives my life. He opens before me the right path and leads me along in his footsteps of righteousness so that I can bring honor to his name.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭23‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭TPT‬‬
  • Decree, Great is the Lord’s faithfulness. He gives me a Father’s help. I don’t have to do it all alone, and I won’t do it all alone. I am unhooking the heavy burdens and weights that I have been dragging, and I choose the life of faith-rest in the Lord. I will get more done with less effort. I will see the beauty and gifts of each day, because I am choosing to walk upright on the gilded path of the Lord in His rest.
